This single use Instant Ice Pack is a simple and quick alternative to a conventional ice pack. Provides on-the-spot cold therapy for bruising, sports sprains and muscle injuries. It is easy to use – no need for precooling.
Instant Ice Packs are ideal for use as the Ice element of the RICE method of treating sprains and strains. This method helps to reduce swelling, ease pain and speed up healing and involves REST – ICE – COMPRESSION – ELEVEATION.
Rest: Rest is vital to enabling recovery. Not resting could worsen the injury.
Ice: Apply on of our instant ice packs or re-usable hot/cold packs for 10 minutes then remove for 10 minutes. Repeat this as often as possible for the first 24-48 hours to reduce pain and swelling.
Compression: Apply a crepe bandage, tubular bandage or elastic adhesive bandage to the affected area. It should be tight enough to give support but not too tight to affect blood flow. Remove the bandage before you sleep.
Elevation: Ensure that the injured body part is raised above the level of your heart. This will reduce pain, throbbing and bruising. This should be done as much as possible during the first 24-48 hours.
